VINCE KOSA-Nothing On Earth
Reviewed by Egoist

This CC contains an extremely varied artistic experimental collection of music. At times it's dreary and dull, while at others it's dark and dramatic. It features energetic tribal rhythms and beats, guitar heavy drum & bass, mellow ambient textures, noise blended with various sound effects, flutes, cold and moody soundscapes, static sounds combined with samples, etc. There is a little bit of everything presented here. Some tracks are more interesting than others, but I can't deny the amount of variety delivered. I find this work to be a lot more interesting than what many other experimental artists create. This is well done and diverse artistic music. While I'm not a big fan of this genre of music, I give credit to this artist for making some very quality sound art.

VINCE KOSA-Nothing On Earth

Vince Kosa is another Tone Casualties LA artist and this CD "Nothing On Earth" is his debut. The music here is an amalgamation of Industrial/techno and drum & bass. Apparently Vince is soon to do collaboration with Test Dept. and indeed that is the way this CD can best be described. Dramatic insturmental auralscapes with driving beats and loads of samples which again would make a great film score. Vince K seems to like to merge lots of different concepts together and see what the result is. If you like bands like Test Dept. and Neubauten and the older ideals of Industrial then you should listen to this.

Vince Kosa takes us on a journey through time, to worlds and places long forgotten. Beautiful, captivating, mesmorizing, the music lives and breathes. The most intuitive world music you will ever have the pleasure of listening to. There's even some Drum 'n' Bass, unlike anything you've heard before. A beautiful album that will outlive most of its counterparts in electronic / world music.

VINCE KOSA-Nothing On Earth
Review by Marc Urselli-Scharer

If the job of this guy were to bring hard times to those who try to label them, then he would definitely be rich at this time... I assure you that it is the fourth time that I listen to this CD and I'm still not able to come up with a description which is clear enough, due to the extreme heterogenous aspects that are joined in this work.

Member of the Hungarian band BP Service, Vince Kosa finally released his first ever solo album of ambient/drum'n'bass textures mixed up with escapism and experimentalism... Sporadic additional metal guitars, seldom you hear eastern-originated surroundings audio sources (even joined in a drum'n'metal version of Muslimgauze!), then there are calm moments of spacy ambient music and sometimes it also goes darker... There are very dissimilar and various atmospheres in this album, ranging from industrial to experimental, from electronica to ambient. You have to listen (from the beginning to the end) before you decide...

He is actually working with Test Dept. for an upcoming collaboration.

VINCE KOSA-Nothing On Earth

As a member of TC's BP Service, Kosa proves he's a capable loner on these deep and dynamic electronic compositions. With an unmistakable ethnic undertone (Hungarian?), he explores a vast amount of beat and non beat territory, each track different from the last. Kosa is not adverse to a little guitar crunch (on "World"), nor a bit of repetition and groove, where even pseudo-d&b makes the cut (on "Nap"). But over it all, VK lays down his multi-sourced cinemascopia, creating many moods, many scenarios and above all, a fine listening album.

VINNIE K. - "Nothing On Earth"

Well the experimental industrial sounds of VINNIE K. mixes elements of bass and drum to trip hop and electronic with hints of jazz, Goth and world beat all mixed together for a collection of noise and beats that have an eerie and haunting feel at times. Rated TTTT - Great
