Fibre

Fibre consist of three musical souls: Ben Nitze, Mac Quayle, and Joe Mendelson, who all met in their early college days at NYU. As fate would have it, they all had chosen an obscure, newly formed program at the university called Music, Business, and Technology. Thought it is many years later, the members of FIBRE admit that they still do not know what these words mean,or why they even belong in the same sentence, but they still have hope to finding out. One thing they do know is that they make great music together, They realized this at the first dorm room session all those years ago. Since then they have gone on to do many things together, including opening and running they own studio, production company, and record label. The record label was formed in order to release Fibre's first album, the critically acclaimed "I Cried At The Fair". They then went on the release an album by Ben Nitze's band Dreamtime, and to distribute recordings by a host of other experimental music luminaries. During all this time,Fibre was experimenting on stage as well, using costumes, props, lights, and multimedia effects in an attempt to deliver a life performance with a little more excitement then the average experimental music concert.Still not musically satiated, Ben Nitze and Joe Mendelson formed yet another band, called Rise Robots Rise, which recorded two albums for TVT Records.Among the many high points of that band's history was having one of their songs covered by international superstar and pop legend Tom Jones. Now the year is 1997 and Fibre has signed with Tone Casualties, a truly unique record label based in Hollywood, which is dedicated to the new and different. Fibre's first album for Tone Casualties, is entitled Sub Atlantic Memories.Fibre hopes to tour following the release of the record, and bring their music directly to the heartland of America.
